In celebration of the 90th Anniversary of the National Central Library (NCL), this presentation firstly briefly introduces the history of the establishment of the Library and the rescue of important Chinese rare books, then, tries to illustrate the primary tasks and services by showing real cases and examples to make known the NCL’s endeavors and achievements in fulfilling its mission. This presentation covers administrative management and practice tasks. The former includes introducing about the NCL’s organizations, target audiences, the 5-year and 10-year Strategic Plan that aimed to help outline endeavoring goals, and appraisals and evaluations to ensure possible best outcomes. The later includes introducing about the tasks in preserving the nation’s academic and cultural heritage, acquiring important thematic and individual collections, developing digital services, innovative utilization of resources in value-added applications, facilitating sinology researches, strengthening international exchanges, exercising leadership role for librarianship development for all types of libraries, promoting reading and literary appreciation, and establishment of Open Lab Multimedia Center and construction of new Southern Branch Library, etc. The introduction of these diversified tasks indeed reflects that the NCL has been accommodating with the development of information technology in data curation, fulfilling its leadership role in facilitating cataloging standardization and enhancement of services for different age groups, resources sharing through sharing of Taiwan research and sinology research resources and cohost lecture forums and exhibitions. This overview of NCL’s endeavors and achievements in fact reveals that the NCL has been proactively exercising diversified tasks and making contributions to academia and cultural communities both domestically and internationally.

為國家圖書館慶祝90周年館慶，簡報回顧國圖成立以及收藏重要中文古籍之歷史，並針對近十年來的重要業務，以實例說明深耕努力與成果之重點。簡報內容於管理方面涵蓋國家圖書館的組織體系、服務的社群、訂定有助於落實國家圖書館的使命目的5年、10年策略目標之內涵、圖書館的各項行動方案及其考核與激勵策略等。於執行業務方面涵蓋有關保存國家文獻、廣徵典籍傳承文化資產、發展數位服務、創新知識加值、推動漢學研究、強化國際交流、引領專業發展、推廣閱讀風氣，以及新落成的創意實驗中心與興建中的南部分館暨聯合典藏中心等，均舉例說明介紹各項目豐碩成果；透過多面向的介紹，完整地呈現國家圖書館隨資訊科技進步而與時俱進的資料整編、國家圖書館於國內發揮編目標準化與跨齡族群服務優化等方面的領導功能、於國外推動臺灣研究與漢學研究，以及圖書交換贈送暨合辦講座與展覽等多元的資源分享，展現國家圖書館對於國內以及對於世界上的學術與文化界之多元業務與積極貢獻。
