Dr. Shu-hsien Tseng is Director General of National Central Library, a position she assumed in December 2010. She also serves as Director of the Centre for Chinese Studies established by Ministry of Education. Prior to joining the NCL she was full-time professor of the Department of Library and Information Science, Fu Jen Catholic University. From 1998 to 2009, she was Director-general of Taipei Public Library. For her achievement at the Taipei Public Library System, Dr. Tseng received the Distinguished Civil Servant Award, the highest honor for civil servant in Taiwan in 1999. Dr. Tseng was chosen as President of Taiwan Reading Association for the term 2007-2008 and President of Library Association of the Republic of China (Taiwan) for the term 2012-2013. Dr. Tseng is also a adjunct professor of National Chengchi University and a chair professor of Fu Jen Catholic University. She has extensive experience in library building, public library management, collection development, TQM, planning, reading promotion, national library administration and children’s services. Dr. Tseng has also published extensively in the field of library and information science.
曾淑賢館長於2010年12月底擔任國家圖書館館長,並兼任漢學研究中心主任迄今。2009年8月至2010年12月,擔任輔仁大學圖書資訊學系教授。1998年至2009年擔任臺北市立圖書館館長、1999年獲選為對國家社會有重大貢獻的傑出公務人員、2007年至2008年擔任台灣閱讀協會理事長、2012年至2013年擔任中華民國圖書館學會理事長。目前兼任國立政治大學圖書資訊與檔案學研究所教授及天主教輔仁大學圖書資訊學系講座教授。專長領域包括圖書館建築、公共圖書館管理、國家圖書館行政、館藏發展、全面品質管理、閱讀推廣、兒童服務及國際合作交流。
