The Martynas Mažvydas National Library of Lithuania continues its core mission, which in today’s digital age is to preserve and manage what has been created in this country over the centuries. We are actively developing a unique library model, live library.

We are not only the custodians of the national documentary treasure but also a cultural institution, open to all, a research library and a parliamentary library that cultivates community, public spirit and democracy. The synergy of the library community and its partners in joint projects increasingly consolidates the National Library as a modern and innovative institution.

The presentation will explore content related to contemporary services in a modern knowledge space: TV studio, co-working space, makerspace and media Lab, Music and Art Labs, children‘s activity centre, etc. Those creative spaces are very popular for the community. They can come together to create, connect and learn and to work on audio-visual creative projects. The successful service is a great way to encourage other libraries to take on initiatives, unconventional solutions and open the libraries‘ door to meet technological changes that are forming new way of learning, communicating, sharing and creating.

立陶宛馬爾蒂納斯．馬日維達斯國家圖書館持續其核心任務，在現今數位化的世代，圖書館的目的，即為保存及管理這世紀立陶宛所創造的智慧財產。立陶宛國家圖書館積極建構一個獨特的圖書館範式，一個貼近生活需求的圖書館。

圖書館不僅是國家檔案的保管者，也是非營利的文化機構，社會的創建、公共精神及民主制度藉由研究型圖書館與議會型圖書館所培養。圖書館界及其合作夥伴在聯合研究發揮協同作用，日益鞏固了國家級圖書館作為現代創新機構的地位。

本次發表將探討現代知識空間中與當代服務相關的內容，如影視空間、聯合辦公空間、創客及媒體空間、音樂及藝術工作室、兒童活動中心等。這些創意空間受到大眾歡迎。人們可以利用這些空間相聚、創造、溝通和學習，並發想視聽創意的提案。這些當代服務的成功，是鼓勵其他圖書館採取主動、非正規的行動，並主動開啟圖書館大門迎接逐步改變的學習、交流、共享和創造的方式與服務技術變革的好方法。
